It's hard to believe another summer has come and gone so quickly and we are already back to our regular routines. I hope you had some relaxing time with your families over the summer and were able to get away for some special bonding time.
Many of us on the Board have been hard at work planning some great activities for you and your families. We will kick off the year at Clay's on September 16 for our annual Meet and Greet. I hope you all will make a point to come on out and get to know your fellow members and their families. Clay's has very kindly agreed to donate 10% of all the food and drink we purchase, so load up the kids and head out to Clay's for a good old time.Extended family and friends are welcome as well!!
On September 21, our first educational program will be a panel of birth mothers. This is always one of our most well attended programs and one you do not want to miss!! And don't forget our annual picnic which will be held this year at Regal Ranch on October 14.You should be getting your invitation in the mail very soon!!
If you have paid your dues recently, or RSVP'd to one of our events, you may have noticed some big changes on our web page. We are now using a new program called Membership Toolkit to organize our data more efficiently and communicate ,with you more effectively. We are all experiencing a learning curve with the new system, and we would love for you to give us your feedback on the new program.
We have a new online platform for AFH this year called Membership Toolkit, and many of you who have already renewed your membership have been introduced to it. By simply renewing your membership, you will be populating our new online directory! You will be able to decide what personal information you would like to be included in the directory, and the directory will be visible only to other AFH members. There is an online option to print a copy of the new directory so no paper copies will be distributed this year. The directory will be updated with every new member immediately so it will be current throughout the year as new members join, a definite plus over our previous directory.
- MOTHER'S DAY EVENT -
A good time was had by all at the annual Mother’s Day Celebration held at the Tullo’s home in Pearland. Yummy food was provided by Robin Murphey and the kids did crafts and played together outside while the adults had a chance to visit. If you missed it, put it in your calendar for this year, everyone had such a good time we will be hosting again this spring!
Our annual fall picnic is just around the corner! We will be hosting our biggest event of the year at Regal Ranch. Bring the entire family for hay rides, a petting zoo, face painting, a DJ, and more!
We have some amazing silent auction and raffle prizes too! This year our theme is sports. We encourage everyone to wear your favorite sports team gear to help us celebrate (but this is optional).
Be on the look out for your invitations in the mail. And remember to kindly RSVP by October 1st. Our new co-chairs Jennifer Arnott and Katie Palmer can’t wait to host another successful picnic! See you all there!
